Last November 12, 2020, Typhoon Ulysess struck Luzon especially parts of Marikina and Rizal. Flood waters rose to as high as a two storey house which led many families to seek refuge in their rooftops. Unfortunately, Mr. Bermejo and his family was one of those affected by the typhoon. Upon learning of his situation, the of Palmer-Asia Inc. immediately took the initiative to help. A donation drive was organized, enabling all employees to help. By this drive, we were able to collect in-kind and monetary donations, aside from the financial assistance given by the management. On November 20, 2020, we were able to personally deliver all donations to Mr. Bermejo and his family. Mr. Gil Bermejo is extending his gratitude to the management and all employees who were still able to help amidst the ongoing pandemic. Thanks to the bayanihan spirit and to the sense of community of all the employees of PALMER! Mr. Andy Palmiery with Ms. Marife Cantara went to Bangkok Thailand last February 12-14 to visit the Management and Staff of Fire Engine Imperial Co. Ltd. Mr. Andy and Ms. Mafe had a constructive meeting with the Top Management of Fire-Engine Imperial Co. Ltd – Mr. Panu Vittayaamnuaykoon and Ms. Veeruthai Vittayaamnuaykoon-President and Vice President respectively of the company. They discussed ways and means to further improve and strengthen their mutual business cooperation which have been going on for several years. There was also a sales presentation and discussions with the sales team of Fire Engine Imperial Co. Ltd. about Halotron I. The visit was truly amazing and a successful event. “Christmas is not an external event at all, but a piece of one’s home that one carries in one’s heart” –Freya Stark Last December 13, 2019, Palmer Asia Inc. celebrated its Christmas party with the theme of Filipiniana at Palmer Manufacturing Bldg. The party was made possible with the help of the party committees headed by Ms. Julie Tiñola, Ms. Niña Tutol, Ms. Pamela Garcia, Ms. Gelli Mañabo, Ms. Michelle Motol, Ms. Angelika Romo, Ms. Ella Magbanua, Ms. Krizzia Calma, Mr. Aris Clarus and Mr. Alexis Castillo. The first part of the event was the various parlor games: Calamansi Relay, The Boat is Sinking, Guess the action, Spelling bee with a twist, and Pabitin. Followed by Mr. Angel P. Palmiery’s State of Palmer Address (SOPA), the whole year achievements and future activities were discussed. The most exciting part of the program was the Palmer Got Talent (PGT); A competition for the employees to showcase their different and unique talents. The FRED Division won the 2nd Runner up led by Mr. Patrick Perilla. For the 1st runner up it was won by FAG Division Led by Mr. Leonard Bazarte. For this year 2019 PGT Champion was no other than Logistics and Warehouse Division led by Mr. Jeff Alcala. Awarding of the outstanding employees were done by Mr. Angel Palmiery (CEO) and Mr. Mervin Distor (COO). Additional contests were Belen Making Contest, the FSD division won the grand prize Led by Ms. Margie Panoy and Palmer Lakan: Mr. Alfredo Tumbaga and Palmer Lakambini: Ms. Shiela Aguilando won the title for the best in costume. The highlights of the event were the lighting of the Advent Wreath, together with the Gospel Reading for the Third Week of Advent. We ended the night by singing a song: “Holy Night”; hand in hand that shows the abundant love and unity of all employees of our beloved Palmer. This year’s World of Safety and Security Expo aims to provide a diverse platform for innovation, security, safety and tech-ready economy. WOSAS offered everyone the opportunity to “Experience the Assurance”. The Worldbex Services International had a new event features for the visitors to burst of new and exciting opportunities and privilege to meet new products and services. First, the International Pavilion showcased products and services by various international companies from China, Indonesia, Taiwan and Singapore. These companies gave the visitors easy access to latest technologies that safeguards them against threat. Second, the SecuCon is a free flowing and holistic exchange of information and seminars about safety and security that aims to enhance industry knowledge among students, professionals and business owners. Lastly, the Business Matching a beneficial deals potential partners or investors. A place to communicate and build a good relationship to a close deal or exchange offers. Our very own Palmer Asia had the opportunity to join the prestigious 4-day exhibit, World of Safety and Security Expo (WOSAS) held in World Trade Center, Manila last September 26 to 29, 2019 . We showcased various products such as rescue equipment, rescue vehicle, fire truck, ambulance, cctv, fire systems and fire extinguisher and a lot more. WOSAS had helped promote brand awareness and acquired prospect clients that would help the company generate more sales in the future. It’s a great opportunity to be one of the exhibitors of this event, the experiences taught us to bring out the best from us by dealing with different kinds of people. The chance to be with local and international visitors will bring Palmer a long way in its objective to be present in the ASEAN in the near future. Davao City is one of the fastest growing business hubs in the Philippines. The city is well known to be the center of financial, education, medical and trade hub in Mindanao. The country’s business sectors are expanding, with new technology which arises young professional for modern opportunities for success. Knowing President Rodrigo “Rudy” Duterte is from Davao, one of our main goal is to promote our brand, products and services and to serve the people of Mindanao. As part of Palmer-Asia’s long term goals, Mr. Angel Palmiery (President/CEO) together with the management decided to open satellite offices. This year’s major company highlight was opening a new branch located at Door 2 Ground Floor NEKZ Building, Philippine National Friendship Highway Communal, Buhangin, Davao City. Last 1st of July 2019, Palmer-Asia Davao (PAD) started business operation, with the presence of Mr. Charlie Ronquillo (PAD Asst. Manager), Ms. Gimmeli Ann Palomares (Administration Officer) and Mr. Andrew Alzona (Manufaturing Technician). Opening a new satellite office far from Manila would help expand the company’s marketing arm, could increase the productivity, gain new clients and build a business enterprise that can eliminate and prevent fire and danger of the people. We are committed to provide a fire protection product, sharing knowledge through conducting seminars and training and delivering outstanding services. As a token of appreciation each awardee was given a house renovation for free, wherein materials and labor were shouldered by Palmer-Asia Inc. Volunteers who worked during the outreach were asked to visit the place and at the same time helped, fixed and re-paint the houses of the awardees. The 2 employees awarded have their own stories to tell that also touches the heart of everyone. One is Mr. Manolo Arellano, our long time Messenger serve Palmer for almost 21 years. Home were family is. Living in unstable place is difficult, you'll need to have a strong house foundation for the security of the people living in it. Literally speaking, durable materials to build a house is what it takes to have a comfortable and long-lasting shelter. Another employee is Mr. Dante Lucas our company Driver serve Palmer for almost 16 years. He was chosen also to have a better place to live in with his family which is located in Parañaque City.  “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. No matter how smart, talented, driven, or passionate you are, your success depends on your ability to build and inspire a team. The company held its 2019 Team Building activities last June 8, 2019 at the Batis Aramin Resort located at the foot of the majestic Mt. Banahaw in Lucban, Quezon. Upon gathering, they had breakfast before going to the venue. The activities started at 9AM after a three and one half hours of travelling from the company headquarters in Paranaque City, Metro Manila. The place made everyone excited and happy because of the beauty of the environment and having a great venue to stay. Started with a Zumba exercise to bring out the energy. The dynamic team building activities that everybody enjoyed were Hoops Relay, Ring Toss, Big Puzzle, Human Maze, Siamese Twin, Speed Stacks, Pencil Craze, and Worm Up. They also experience zip line, wall climbing and rappelling for some self-confident activities. Afterwards the President/CEO of Palmer Asia Inc., Mr. Angel Palmiery delivered his State of Palmer Address during lunch. “Unity, Solidarity and Teamwork is the key” he said, the most important core values of a person should carry for a success and unified teamwork. He also mentioned how to continue achieving goals and striving for the betterment of the company. Also thanks everyone for all the efforts to make this event possible and for everyone who join and participate in this 2019 Team Building. The winners of the Team Building activities were also announced after the SOPA. Together with COO, Mr. Mervin N. Distor awarded the medals and certificates. The champion for this year is Red Team led by Ms. Julie Tiñola, 1 st runner up is Yellow Team led by Ms. Connie Grey, 2 nd runner up is Green Team led by Ms. Kharen Grimaldo followed by Pink Team led by Ms. Lanie Tungol and Blue Team led Mr. Joel Madamba. After the activities, there were extra time to take some dip in the pool to take advantage of the cold, natural and pure water from Mt. Banahaw. Several groups also went to the other places of interest nearby Lucban to discover delicacies, to visit the tourist attractions called Miraculous Shrine “Kamay Ni Hesus”, to try out the famous pancit habhab and lucban longganisa, and to reflect and pray at the San Luis Obispo Parish Church – one of the oldest churches in the Philippines dating back to 1595. It was a successful and memorable event.  Once again Palmer celebrated the birth and coming of Jesus Christ with a fantastic Christmas Party last December and the voluntary going to the Sacrament of Penance. As part of the celebration a Christmas Party with a Fairy Tale setting was held at the Lindenwood Suites last December 14. 2018. Everybody enjoyed which helped them prepare for Christmas very well.  About 100 Employees of Palmer repaired the Dagatan Farm Sxhool last Augusr 25, 2018 in Lipa Ciry Batangas. The Palmer Volunteers cleaned & painted many rooms in the said school which is for poor but deserving students from around the area. Everybody was Happy & Delighted for having helped many people that day. Palmer-Asia Incorporated held its annual Sports Fest on April 7, 2018 at La Villas, Binan Laguna. Four teams vying for victory competed at various games including basketball and volleyball. All employees had a great time playing while some cheered and yelled in support to their respective teams. It was indeed a time for celebration as employees were able to take a time off their work and truly have fun with their colleagues. The Red Team was unbeatable as a champion for the last couple of years so all the members of the team gave 100% of their effort. Yellow team came close to red team but Dannis San Jose got the winning point in playing the Chess tournament so we won the over-all. All the team work paid off. And I think that’s the goal of this sportsfest that all of the teams participating to work, help, and support together as one to bring success and start to form a new level of trust with one another |
