But
what makes this year different from the rest? PAI through
the OTC made record in the annals of fire extinguisher
manufacturing and Mall retailing the first ever mall
fire extinguisher table demonstration at SM Megamall.
The
peculiarity of the activity caught the attention of
the mass media. Last March 12, the Palmer mall table
demonstration was aired on TV Patrol through Mr. TJ
Manotoc, who was amazed by the efficiency of our product
bought one 2.5lbs Halotron1 for himself and featured
our items.

Humble
Beginnings
Three years ago, the Management spearheaded by our President
Angel Palmiery thought of a way of professionalizing
our selling in PAI without meddling with corrupt firemen,
politicians and bureaucrats as well as cater the demand
of the residential area. Thanks to the advent of Malls
in retailing it pave way for the company to place our
products lines in the department stores and malls thus
came the OTC.
OTC backed then was formed under the territory of MM
PAD headed by the former AGM Vivien Banzuelo. It was
nine months after it became an additional sales department.
The Handyman sales center was the first to draw blood
in 4 outlets: Ermita, Galleria, Metroeast and Novaliches.
May 2005 when I assumed the position of a Sales Coordinator,
it was the time that Handyman eventually rose to 34
outlets only to reduce to 21 outlets this year. Then
came MC Depot and JC Spice which were later closed.
In December 2006 we opened up Ace Hardware, the famous
hardware store of the SM Corp. from 4 outlets to 7 outlets
this year not to mention the 39 Outright stores all
over the country. To date we are present in 67 stores
nationwide.

Bastion
of officers?
Since its establishment in March 2005, the OTC group
became the training ground for the future officers of
the company. Among these lucky guys were Benjie Apiado,
Rodel Anayoc, Beth Rey and Raymond Mangahas.
Benjie Apiado started out as merchandiser of Handyman
in the area of Cavite in June 2005 eventually became
Sales Coordinator after two months because of his exemplary
performance. Now he is the Sales Supervisor of the South
Luzon Area. Rodel Anayoc for this matter started only
as a contact in MC Depot and in due course of time became
our merchandiser in Handyman Ermita. After that, he
served as Quality Inspection Officer (QIO). Now he is
the Sales Supervisor of North Luzon area.
Beth Rey was also a product of the OTC. She was a former
merchandiser of JC Spice way back 2006. Now she is the
Purchasing and Logistic officer of FSSD. Raymond Mangahas
was a late bloomer in his time. He entered the company
in November of 2006 and worked as a merchandiser in
Handyman Metroeast, Galleria, Pioneer, Trinoma and Ermita.
He was given promotion May last year as Sales Coordinator
but declined the offer due to personal reason. Again,
he was given opportunity December 2007. Now he is currently
the right arm of the OTC. These were the few good men
of the OTC who made out the limelight.
What lies ahead?
Our three years of painstaking selling, hard work and
studies had thought us the strategies to win over our
competitors and cope up with the difficulties of retailing.
The abilities to pin point mistakes, rectify errors
and diminutive adventurism in selling are among those
commendable traits of the group. Camaraderie among members
and direct support coming from the Management undeniably
played a major role at all times.
OTC is the forefront of competition in the residential
market today. With its few good dedicated men, it is
steadfastly moving forward to capture the P100M market
size in the future.
